Shipment Lifecycle
Every shipment in TRADEXIM OS follows a structured lifecycle. This guide explains each stage — from initial booking through to final delivery and closure.

Lifecycle overview
A shipment moves through distinct stages. Each stage has associated data, documents, and actions that must be completed before moving to the next stage:
Stage breakdown
Booking
Booking ConfirmedSelect shipping line and service contract, request space, record booking reference number and cutoff dates, and link to the underlying export or import documents.
Container Management
Container Pickup → ReturnRequest container release, record pickup from depot, enter container numbers and seal numbers, track size and weight, and monitor return after delivery.
Vessel Operations
Loading → Departure → ArrivalTrack loading, departure, transshipment, and arrival. Capture ETD, ATD, ETA, ATA, vessel name, and voyage details at each step.
Charges and costs
Cost Recording CompleteRecord shipping line charges, destination charges, and additional costs. All charges feed into the Finance module for profitability analysis.
Delivery and closure
Delivery Completed → ClosedRecord cargo delivery, confirm container return, reconcile charges and payments, archive documents, and close the shipment record.
Best practices
Update milestones in real-time as events occur, not retroactively
Attach supporting documents (booking confirmations, BL copies) at each stage
Review shipment profitability before closing
Set up automated notifications for milestone changes
